Instructional Design Specialist

Markham, ON

Kubota Canada Ltd. (KCL) is currently seeking a full time Instructional Design Specialist to join its team in Markham, Ontario.


Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct needs assessment and task analysis with subject matter experts using sound design principles to identify and define potential learning strategies and solutions
  • Responsible for the creation of full cycle design, development and evaluation of learning assets for both eLearning and instructor-led solutions in the Articulate 360 and Creative Cloud suites
  • Determine training requirements, taking input from Service and Engineering, Sales and Marketing personnel, Kubota Dealers and product suppliers/vendors
  • Determine training requirements from dealers and suppliers in terms of content, duration, certification requirements
  • Provide reports on progress/success of current training courses
  • Review alternative methods and their suitability to KCL requirements
  • Work collaboratively with internal business units and their subject matter experts to develop, produce and deliver learning solutions across independent, instructor-led and blended modalities, that apply the concepts of adult learning and instructional design
  • Set up, organize and launch training courses for KCL personnel and KCL dealer training
  • Administer and manage daily operation and functions of the Kubota University

Requirements:
  • Diploma/university degree in a related discipline
  • Adult education, training management, or instructional design accreditation is an asset
  • Background with engines/agriculture/construction and turf equipment industry is an asset
  • Experience as a trainer, instructional design, and organizing of training schools
  • Experience in selling, marketing and business procedures
  • Experience in the equipment industry
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Bilingual (English/French) preferred
  • Problem solving aptitude
  • Negotiation skills
  • Excellent computer skills and fluency – PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite< software, Video editing, LMS, and on-line fluency
