Kubota Canada Ltd. Announces Safety Recall MSC-2022-023 for Select RTV- XG850 Utility Vehicles
Transport Canada Recall 2022-635
November 16, 2022
Kubota Canada Ltd. has released an important safety campaign to owners of RTV-XG850 Utility
vehicles sold between 2018 and 2022. This notice was sent by mail to customers with affected
machines in accordance with the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Warning: To avoid personal injury, do not use until the unit has been inspected and/or
repaired, as under some conditions the steering shaft can shear. Please contact your
authorized Kubota dealer for inspection and repair as soon as possible.
The steering shaft on the RTV-XG850 may shear due to misalignment of the electric power
steering support bracket on the frame. Shearing of the steering shaft causes a loss of steering,
which can cause a loss of machine control or a crash. Please review the attached customer
letter for more information.
Z100 Throttle Cable Campaign
Kubota has discovered that the engine throttle cable routing in Z100 series models can come into contact with the electrical terminals on the key switch, posing a risk of the cable to potentially heat up and melt nearby plastic parts.
Z400 and Z700 series ROPS
Kubota Canada has determined that the retention bolts of the ROPS for some Z400 and Z700 series zero-turn mower may be loose from the factory. This could lead to the unit not operating as designed in a roll-over situation.
Coolant Cap Campaign
Kubota Canada has determined that the coolant reserve tank cap of several models of zero-turn mower, garden tractor, and compact tractor may be defective. This could prevent coolant from getting to the reserve tank and cause an overheat of the engine.
