Great Plains Max-Chisel®

Max-Chisel® works the soil more aggressively than a traditional chisel, but leaves the surface level enough for a single-pass tool to finish the field ahead of the planter in the spring. Angled chopper wheels combine with 15" shank spacing to pull dirt back into the shank voids, leveling the soil while maintaining the vertically-tilled profile left by the shanks.

Features

Parabolic or chisel shanks

Order the Max-Chisel® the way you want it with two different shank combinations: standard chisel (right) or heavy-duty parabolic toggle-trip shanks (left). When equipped with heavy-duty parabolic toggle-trip shanks, this unit works in the mid-ranges of 8" to 12" – requiring less horsepower than competitive disk rippers that run in the 13" to 15" range – while horizontally fracturing soil much better than a disk chisel. Toggle-trip shanks either run at the set depth or trip – there is no in-between. Both shanks are effective at eliminating ruts and shallow compaction caused by harvest traffic.

Exclusive concave turbo-wave blades with patented “samurai edge”

Two opposing rows of exclusive 24" concave Turbo-wave blades aggressively remove root balls while mixing and incorporating crop residue into the top 4" to 5" of soil. This anchors the residue to the ground to accelerate the decomposition process.

Individual disc mounts

Mounted to individual C-shanks, 24" blades on 15" spacing offer adequate room to clear the flow of trash/residue. They are also designed to perform well in wet conditions.

Maintenance-free bearings

All blades feature maintenance-free tapered bearings in a cast hub with six-lip interlocking seals to keep grease in and dirt out.

Single-point depth stop

Adjust the depth across the entire width of the machine in one convenient location.

Walking tandem axles

Maintain consistent mainframe height for accurate, uniform tillage depth.

Optional angled rear chopper wheels

Patented angled chopper wheels and 15" shank spacing work together to pull dirt back into shank voids, leveling soil while maintaining the vertically-tilled profile left by the shanks.

Optional chopper wheel with ML roller

Choose chopper wheels w/ ML rollers for a smooth, uniform finish.

Rear hitch options

Variety of hitch configurations in long, short, ball, and flex-tongue configurations are available. The rear hitches complement the versatility of the Max-Chisel® by enabling cover crop, nutrient application, and other light-duty towed attachments.
