Collections and Remarketing Manager
Kubota Canada Ltd. is currently seeking a full time Collections and Remarketing Manager to join its team in Pickering, Ontario – reporting to the Director, Finance. In this role the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the company’s collections activities and the remarketing of repossessed or returned assets
Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing and refining collection strategies to reduce delinquency rates and improve overall recovery performance
- Regularly review delinquent accounts and generate reports to track outstanding balances, collection efforts, and recovery progress
- Conduct thorough risk analysis on overdue accounts to identify potential high-risk clients and accounts requiring escalated recovery efforts
- Identify and escalate accounts with significant delinquency or non-payment risks to senior management or legal counsel for further action
- Conduct thorough evaluations of repossessed or returned equipment to determine current market value, considering age, condition, and market demand
- Work with third-party appraisers or internal experts to ensure accurate and fair valuations
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns to promote remarketed assets through various channels, including online listings, dealer bulletins, and sales events>
- Develop promotional materials, including product descriptions, images, and pricing, to attract potential buyers
- Arrange for the transportation of repossessed assets to appropriate sales locations, including dealers, auction houses, or storage facilities
- Negotiate sales terms and conditions with dealers, resellers, or end customers to achieve optimal returns on remarketed assets
- Establish key performance metrics such as delinquency rates, recovery rate, days sales outstanding (DSO), and average days delinquent.
- Set specific, measurable targets for collectors and teams based on historical performance and business objectives
- Continuously monitor collection KPIs such as cash collected vs. targets, number of accounts resolved, and percentage of accounts escalated

- Track the success of marketing campaigns and promotions based on response rates, inquiries, and conversion rates for remarketed assets.
- Monitor compliance with all legal requirements and corporate policies during the remarketing process.
- Work with IT or software vendors to customize the system to suit the specific needs of the collections and remarketing departments
- Develop and conduct training sessions for team members on how to effectively use the system for collections and remarketing tasks
- Ensure that the system complies with security standards to protect sensitive customer and company data, including encryption, secure access controls, and data backup procedures
Requirements:
- Bilingual in English and French
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Knowledge of debt recovery techniques, negotiation tactics, and customer relationship management specific to equipment financing
- Familiarity with different collection approaches such as dunning processes, escalation procedures, and legal collections
- Understanding of risk mitigation strategies to minimize financial losses.
- Knowledge of equipment resale markets, including factors that influence the value of repossessed or returned assets.
- Familiarity with channels for remarketing assets, such as auctions, direct sales, and dealer networks.
- Understanding of asset depreciation, refurbishment, and pricing strategies to maximize resale value
- Understanding of the organization’s policies on credit risk management, collections, repossessions, and asset disposition.
- Familiarity with the company's process for handling delinquent accounts, customer negotiations, and payment settlements.
- Awareness of escalation processes and decision-making hierarchies within the company.
- Knowledge of how various departments (e.g., finance, legal, sales, marketing, IT) work together to support collections and remarketing activities
- Understanding the company’s broader financial goals and aligning collections and remarketing strategies accordingly.
- Familiarity with internal communication channels, reporting structures, and project management processes.
- Deep understanding of the company’s product offerings (e.g., Kubota equipment) and the customer base for each product segment.
- Awareness of market trends that affect demand for new, used, or repossessed equipment, both at the retail and wholesale levels.
- Knowledge of the company's dealer network and how it interacts with the collections and remarketing functions.
- Understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) used to track collections efficiency (e.g., delinquency rates, recovery percentages) and remarketing performance (e.g., asset turnover, resale value).
- Familiarity with reporting tools and performance dashboards used internally to monitor progress against goals.
- Awareness of the broader economic environment and how fluctuations in the economy (e.g., inflation, interest rates, market demand) impact customer payment behavior and equipment resale value.
- Understanding the competitive landscape for remarketing repossessed assets, including supply and demand dynamics in the market, pricing trends, buyer demographics, and the impact of economic conditions on asset liquidation strategies. This includes analyzing competitor approaches, auction performance, private sale channels, and dealer participation to optimize recovery rates and remarketing effectiveness.
