Engineering Manager

Kubota Canada Ltd. is currently seeking a full time Engineering Manager to join its team in Pickering, ON – reporting to the Director, Engineering & Product Solutions. In this role the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Engineering department with planning, testing, verification and introduction of new products.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee product testing to ensure performance, durability, and compliance with industry standards (SAE, ANSI, ISO).
  • Develop and implement validation protocols, including shop, field, and customer-based testing.
  • Analyze test results and recommend design improvements.
  • Support and develop localized product solutions to enhance performance and competitiveness based on Product Management requests.
  • Collaborate with customers, dealers, and internal teams to tailor engineering solutions to regional conditions
  • Identify and qualify local suppliers to support product development and cost optimization.
  • Lead engineering investigations into field issues, working closely with QA, Service and Warranty teams.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to resolve product failures and improve reliability.
  • Oversee the creation and upkeep of Smart Bill of Materials (SBOMs) to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Manage SBOM revisions, engineering change Notices (ECNs), and whole good specifications.
  • Ensure SBOM alignment with current system for ease of use by dealer personnel for product ordering and quoting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or a related engineering field or College Diploma in a related discipline, leading to a Certified Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, Farm Equipment Technician or Heavy Truck and Bus Technician license from a Canadian province.
  • 5+ years of experience in product development, testing, and validation.
  • Strong knowledge of BOM management, ERP systems, and engineering documentation.
  • Experience in problem-solving field issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
