Kverneland & Kubota Canada

The Kverneland Group is a leading international company developing, producing and distributing agricultural implements and services.

Acquired by Kubota in 2012, The Kverneland Group offers an extensive range of agricultural implements aimed at the professional farming community, covering the areas of soil and seeding equipment, forage and bale equipment, spreading, spraying and electronic solutions for agricultural tractors and machinery.

In 2019, the Kverneland Group celebrated its 140th anniversary. Since 1879 the company has grown into a multinational agricultural implement specialist, with 2,482 employees. With 140 years of experience in agriculture, they continue to develop innovative implement solutions for the farming society.

Today, Kverneland products are available exclusively in Canada through the Kubota Canada dealer network.

Great Plains & Kubota Canada

In 2016 Kubota Corporation acquired Great Plains Manufacturing, Inc. This solidified an existing long-term relationship with the Land Pride brand and also included all five Great Plains divisions with facilities in Salina, Kansas and Sleaford, England.

Great Plains Manufacturing, Inc., was established on April 1, 1976 and since its inception, the company has become a leader in the manufacturing of agricultural implements for tillage, seeding, and planting as well as a leading producer of dirt working, turf maintenance, and landscaping equipment.

Great Plains is focused on investing in state-of-the-art technology and talented people to design, engineer, and produce leading-edge implements and attachments. These leading implements and implements are now proudly available through Kubota Canada’s dealer network.

1890
Gonshiro Kubota founded Kubota Limited, producing some of Japan’s finest cast-iron pipes.

1922
Kubota begins producing oil-based engines for agro-industrial use.

1960
The first Kubota tractor is manufactured in Japan.

1969
Kubota sells its first tractor in the United States, the L200.

1972
Kubota Tractor Corporation is founded in California.

1974
Kubota manufactures the B6000, its first compact with 4WD.

1975
Kubota Canada Ltd. is founded in Markham, Ontario.

1976
Kubota is Japan's first agricultural machinery recipient of the Deming Award for quality manufacturing.

1977
Kubota introduces the M4000 40HP tractor, intended for farm use.

1988
Kubota Manufacturing of America (KMA) opens in Georgia as Kubota’s first U.S. manufacturing plant.

1990
Kubota Metal Corporation is founded in Ontario.

1994
KMA begins producing the T series lawn tractors.

1997
Kubota Engine America Corporation is founded.

2002
KMA adds the BX Series general-use sub-compact to its lineup

2003
KMA is named Georgia Manufacturer of the year in the large company size category.

2004
KMA begins producing the RTV Utility Vehicle to fulfill market need for an industrial quality utility vehicle.

2005
Kubota Membrane USA Corporation is founded in Redmond, Washington, Kubota Industrial Corporation (KIE) begins manufacturing tractor implements and performing final assembly of Kubota tractors built in Japan for sale in North American markets.

2012
Kubota purchases Kverneland Group and soon after begins marketing hay tools under the Kubota trade name in Canada. The Kverneland produced products continue to grow to include mowing, hay & forage tools and tillage

2013
KIE adds a 522,000 sq. ft. manufacturing plant to produce the L3200 and L3800 compact tractors.

Kubota earns the NAEDA Dealers Choice Awards and is named #1 in dealer satisfaction.

2014
For a second year in a row Kubota earns the NAEDA Dealers Choice Awards.

2015
Kubota introduces the M7 series, mid-rage tractors in the 130 to 170 horsepower range for commercial livestock and row-crop production markets.

2016
Kubota Canada invests in a cold weather testing facility.

2016
Kubota announces the purchase of Great Plains Manufacturing, Inc., based in Salina, Kanas. This acquisition builds on the long-term business relationship with Land Pride and includes all five Great Plains divisions with facilities in Kansas and a plant in Sleaford, England

2019
Kubota previews the all-new M8 Series. The M8 Series is Kubota's breakthrough tractor lineup boasting over 200 engine horsepower.

2019
Kubota Canada Ltd. launched the new FastBale as an exciting addition to their existing line-up of quality hay tools.
The Kubota FastBale will make continuous baling a reality in Canada for an increasing number of forward-thinking farmers and custom operators.

2020
Kubota Canada Ltd. announces that the Kubota Canadian dealer network will become the primary distributors of both Kverneland and Great Plains equipment, parts and service for Canada
