Bilingual Collections Specialist

Kubota Canada Ltd. is currently seeking a full time Bilingual Collections Specialist to join its team in Pickering, ON. In this role the candidate will be responsible for collecting and resolving an assigned portfolio of delinquent accounts, to reduce delinquency and minimize credit losses.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish efficient & effective lines of communication between retail customers &dealerships, provide support in the form of recommendations & actions
  • Interact with both dealers and customers (via phone, text and email) to determine solutions and resolve delinquency
  • Negotiate account resolution and accurately input and document actions within the collection systems while maintaining company performance and productivity standards
  • Issue required Demand letters 14/20/30 day letters as per applicable provincial legislation
  • Maintain detailed notes to ensure account information is current and execute follow up to confirm payment arrangements are respected
  • Maintain up-to-date customer contact information in the collections systems. May be required to support other functions within the collections/remarketing department
  • Work with dealers and bailiffs to ensure units are recovered and secured
  • At the request of dealerships, internal management, or as deemed necessary, takes necessary steps to secure interest in the equipment
  • Maintain up-to-date customer contact information in the system
  • Secure a payment commitment of past due or outstanding balance and negotiate with the customer to obtain total amount due
  • Work closely with the Legal Credit & Recovery Specialist to ensure timely recovery of repossessions
  • Communicate with dealers to assist with collections, repossession, and storage
  • At the request of dealerships, internal management, or as deemed necessary, takes necessary steps to secure interest in the equipment

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English (written and verbal)
  • University/College preferred
  • General understanding of captive finance
  • Good demeanor and phone etiquette
  • Politely assertive, thrives on negotiation and customer interaction
  • Advanced judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organization skills – with ability to handle a large volume of accounts in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills. Detailed oriented and able to analyze and troubleshoot account issues
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and resolve problems independently
  • Monitors own quality of work
  • General understanding of captive finance industry is an asset
